COP simulation

Another class from Itis Pininfarina in Moncalieri was involved in this activity on 16 November. It was an opportunity to learn more about the functioning of the institutions dealing with climate change and related issues and to try to experiment in a small way with the related governance process. We started with a small icebreaker on the over consumption of resources by imagining ourselves as a consortium of loggers and then moved the issue to the level of the United Nations. After an introduction on the topic of COPs by the expert staff present, the young people divided into groups for each country or group of countries prepared an introductory speech on their territorial situation, their planned climate commitments and proposals to the other territories. Following this, just as in a real United Nations Conference of the Parties on climate, the delegates from each territory tried to agree on the various proposals and positions that had emerged. All in all, an excellent activity of reflection and involvement on the issue!
